Teen depression cases are on an alarming rise over the past few years. The teenage is when the child requires the most of an emotional support. The teen seeks this help and support among like minded people, more likely on a teen health community or a forum where they have all sorts of things to help the teens in their adolescence. This is the time when the teenagers undergo a physical as well as a mental growth at lightning pace. To cope with these hormonal changes the teens need to take care of their teen health and look and feel strong and confident all the time.

The children feel too much of burden levied on their young shoulders when the parents expect them to do well in their studies as well as sports. The competition is tough and it does not help when the teens face peer pressure at their schools and colleges. Joining a teen health community the children get an access to a professional panel of child experts that constitute of psychiatrists, doctors, and even other children of the same ages. Here they make friends, share their lives, and socialize. This helps them to grow faster and fit in the fast paced world outside their comfortable lives. They receive all sorts of information from televisions, to radios, to concerts, and much more, but from the teen health community forums they receive fruitful knowledge which helps them to grow out of their misery.

Part of the child’s depression is the inferiority complex that it gains when it sees the achievements of the peers. This casts a shell around the child as it begins to compare with the others. On a good teen health community site none this happens as the child gets an exclusive treatment from all the administrators and members alike. It is like a social networking site to build an online network of people and friends. Here you can get tips to maintain right shape and good health from others who are practicing the best standards and techniques for themselves. People share secrets and their success stories pertaining to all the forms of a teenage life ranging from sports, studies, extracurricular activities, singing, dancing, and much more, and all for free! The teens are helped to make short time and long time goals that are practical and help them focus in order to achieve them.

In recent years it has been discovered that the brain is not fully developed until twenty, yet we expect a teenager to act like an adult of thirty. Why are we giving them adults medications? Natural remedies have been shown to work with children, teens and adults. The side effects of antidepressants called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI) may actually increase suicidal thoughts and actions in teen depression.

Teens with depression now have available medicinal formulas using natural remedies that contain the active ingredients to treat the root causes within the developing brain and all without the horrifying side effects of harsh prescription drugs. Combine this formula of a good teen health community with a healthy diet and parental support and you will find your teen gaining his happiness once again.

Health Community for Teens ? Know the Teen Health Issues

Reaching the teenage is the most beautiful transition of a lifetime. The kid gets to break the bounds and enter a carefree age of fun and enthralling lifestyle. But these years can also be dreadful as every year many youths are not certain about the teen health and go beyond limits that would easily make their lives miserable. Hence it is more apt for any youth to join a health community for teens where the person can join in the group and mingle among the other peers with similar philosophies.

One thing that the teens always are wary of is the difference in the thinking states of the adults and themselves. While the teenagers are carefree and more towards a recluse attitude, the adults pose a more mature thinking as they are bound by the social issues. The adults do not want their children to grow in to delinquencies and hence they, more often than not, end up being harsh on the child. The point here is to understand the teen and behave accordingly so as to not mess up with the kid’s sentiments. To gain respect one should give respect. One way to understand the teenagers is by joining in a health community for teens where the teenagers come in large numbers and share their philosophies on life and their issues on teen health. Teen health is always an issue among the parents as their children grow into more adult forms physically, but they are not yet mature in the mind. This imbalance leads the kids into dire consequences which could possibly be even permanent in mental or physical instability.

A health community for teens always focuses the discussion topics that pertain to the teen health and related issues such as the parent-child relationship, peer pressure, sex and relationships, and much more. Some of the common topics that are posted time and again for the members to be aware of are mentioned bellow:

Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs): Since the physical bodies are changing shapes rapidly, it is highly natural for the person to be curious and inquisitive about the change. And to explore more the teens end up having unsafe sexual encounters. The children are not mature enough to know about their teen health and hence often ignore the precautions while engaging in the thrilling experiences. There are many dangers associated with sex and the health community for teens always includes this in their primary discussion agendas.  While there are many issues that are born out of sex which include teenage pregnancies, the first time experience and more, the biggest danger of all is the sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) that spread through unprotected sex. The teens should be aware of such diseases, their causes, and implications to practice safe sex every time.
Alcohol and Drug abuse: On getting on the teen health issues there always hovers a possibility of the kids falling into bad company and peer pressure and getting themselves addicted to socially unaccepted behaviors such as smoking, drinking, and even drugs. While some may consider light smoking and drinking acceptable, any degree of drug indulgence is called drug abuse. The law too entails the citizens to keep themselves away from the drugs as they are dangerous especially when used by an inexperienced user. The health community for teens communicates a clear message to all its members and educates them in drug abuse, its risks, and effects on teen health.

While these may be the primary motives of the talks, the subjects are not at all limited to them. By joining a good health community for teens the teens as well as their parents can get educated on such issues that relate to teen health.

Bodimojo is a health community for teens that drives a cause to educate the members ? teens and adults alike in teen health related issues and help them make a defining group of similar thinking individuals.

He could barely walk and he had very little use of his arms. Each day he experienced un-ending, excruciating pain. In the span of a few months, he spent a sizable fortune on the best medical care he could find, but nothing seemed to help. Weight Bias in Health Care

Overweight and obese patients frequently feel stigmatized in health care settings, and face stereotypes and prejudice from health care providers. These stigmatizing experiences (also called ‘weight bias’) jeopardize patients’ emotional and physical health. The Rudd Center for Food Policy and Obesity at Yale University (ruddcenter.yale.org) has released this new video in response to a growing concern about weight bias in health care. The video, hosted by celebrity and activist Emme and featuring Rudd Center experts including Dr. Rebecca Puhl and Dr. Kelly Brownell, uses expert commentary and dramatic representation to increase awareness of bias and stigma that overweight and obese patients encounter in health care. Equally importantly, the video presents a range of practical strategies to help providers reduce bias in their clinical practice, and to optimize the health care experience for their overweight and obese patients.

What are the Health Risks of Being Overweight?

If you are overweight, you are more apt to experience health problems. These include heart disease, stroke, diabetes, certain types of cancer, gout (joint pain caused by excess uric acid), and gallbladder disease. Sleep apnea (interrupted breathing during sleep) and osteoarthritis (wearing away of the joints) are other problems cause by being overweight. The more overweight you are, the more likely you are to have health problems.

The main health threat you will in all probability develop is heart disease, which can lead to a heart attack. The leading causes of death and disability for both men and women in the United States alone are heart disease and stroke. Heart disease develops when your heart has to work extra hard to pump the blood to the body, which causes it to become fatigued. This can take place simply because you are overweight, or can be product of high blood pressure or high cholesterol.

Overweight people are more prone to have high blood pressure, a major risk factor for heart disease and stroke, than people who are not overweight. High blood levels of cholesterol and triglycerides (blood fats) can also lead to heart disease and often are associated with being overweight. Being overweight also contributes to angina (chest pain caused by decreased oxygen to the heart) and sudden death from heart disease or stroke without any signs or symptoms.

It is good news that by losing a small amount of weight you can diminish your chances of developing heart disease or a stroke. In fact, by reducing your weight by 10 percent can decrease your chance of developing heart disease by improving how your heart works, blood pressure, and levels of blood cholesterol and triglycerides.

Along with heart disease, having high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels can also put you at risk of a stroke. Strokes happen when blood, and thus oxygen, cannot reach the brain. This can come about due to high cholesterol. When you have high cholesterol, the fatty deposits, or plaque, build up on your artery walls. If a piece of this plaque breaks off and travels to the heart, it causes a heart attack, and traveling to the brain causes a stroke.

In the United States the most common kind of diabetes is noninsulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (type 2 diabetes). Type 2 diabetes reduces your body’s ability to control your blood sugar. It is a major reason of early death, heart disease, kidney disease, stroke, and blindness. Overweight people are twice as likely to develop type 2 diabetes as people who are not overweight. You can lessen your threat of developing this type of diabetes by losing weight and by increasing your physical activity.

If you already suffer type 2 diabetes, losing weight and becoming more physically active can help control your blood sugar levels. And if you utilize medication to control your blood sugar, weight loss and physical activity may make it possible for your doctor to lessen the amount of medication you need.

Further, several forms of cancer are associated with being overweight. Overweight women, are at greater risk for developing cancer of the uterus, gallbladder, cervix, ovary, breast, and colon.

Overweight Dogs And The Health Problems It May Cause

The issue of overweight dogs is a big concern for many pet owners as they understand the health dangers that it can bring, but it is equally ignored by many others around the world and they are seriously affecting the happiness of their dog in later life.

An overweight dog is something many owners should be very aware of especially after the middle age of about 7 years of age (depending on dogs size). A dogs weight can seriously put your dogs health at risk and cut their life short as well as causing an unnecessary painful ending.

Dogs tend to be able to eat as much as we choose to feed them at times and feeding your dog till he/she is full is a bad idea at the best of times. A set amount should be given to your dog each day and some notification next to your dogs bowl might help the confusion of who’s fed the dog and who hasn’t.

As your dog becomes older, you will need to check their weight more often as their metabolism will slow down and overeating will become out of control and a problem for your dog. Obviously dogs come in different sizes and shapes so there is not set amount of food that has to be given to your particular breed of dog and a small amount of research or a trip to the vets will be needed to see how much your dog should eat.

Determine the weight of your dog is correct by checking that your dogs ribs can be easily felt with your hands with little pressure, and ensure they are not visibly noticeable. Your dogs hips should be easily felt and not surrounded by too much flesh and fat, and by looking down on your dog from above the body should curve inwards after the rib cage slightly.

If these requirements are all in place then your dog appears to be a healthy weight and this should be maintained throughout their life. Always ensure your dog has plenty of exercise and play time to maintain a healthy dog. If your dog becomes too thin then a vet should be contacted for advice and support as well as if your dog is very overweight, both can be equally destroying to your dogs health and come with their own dangers.

Note: dog diet preferences and advice leaflets or booklets will all be available from your vets and many pet stores and centers.

What are the Risks of Being Overweight to One’s Health?

One writes and talks about overweight more and more, but despite this, the percent of the people with excess kilos is constantly increasing. As basic reason for this the specialists indicate the drastic change in the lifestyle of human in the last decades and the following physiological and psychic changes, on which human body cannot give an adequate answer. That is why it is good for you to know what are the risks from the overweight for your health, as well as what precautions can you take against accumulation of excess weight on your body.

If you are overweight, you have a risk of developing health problems like:

1. Hypertension.

90% of the people having overweight have hypertension. 60 % of them have problems with it far before reaching 40 years. 10 kg of overweight increase 6 times the risk of insult and infarction.

2. Sexual problems.

The women which have excess 15 kilos suffer from decreased reproductive function, face difficulties in the period of pregnancy and have a higher risk of complications of the heart and kidneys during delivery. Upon fat men one observes decrease in the amount of sperm and the stagnation phenomena in the small pelvis increase – the prostate and the kidneys. Upon both genders one observes increase of the loading on the spinal column.

3. Diabetes of 2 type.

It affects mostly people of middle age. Obesity is a main risk factor. The pancreas produces insulin, but because of the disorders in the metabolism the glucose cannot completely enter cells and accumulates in blood. Then the contents of sugar in it increases and the signs of diabetes appear. It is ascertained that average fat diabete suffering people live 8-10 years less compared to their healthy coevals.

4. Varicose.

Upon overweight the tonicity of the blood vessels is damaged. Vessel drainage is made difficult, and this in 90 % of the cases conditions the appearance of varicose veins. The excessive loading of feet and legs and blood thickening, provoked by the disorder of the fat metabolism, increases several times the risk of thrombosis of the deep veins. 60 %of the people died of thromboembolism of the lung artery, used to suffer from obesity.

What could you do to prevent yourselves from accumulation of overweight in your body?

1. Make your diet multi – coloured.

The fruit and the vegetables are irreplaceable source of cellulose, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. They contain a little calories, they for the feeling of satiety and combine well with all meals.

2. Eat regularly.

When eating regularly, the metabolism is effected evenly and calories are spent all day long. If the interval between eatings is too large, the body strives to spend less energy, i. e. It burns less calories. Have breakfast at any cost. Eat not less than 3 times and from time to time eat additionally light healthy food.

3. Choose fresh products.

In order the products to be conserved for a long period, one adds to them any preservatives possible, and this often leads to decrease of the contents of their vitamins and other useful ingredients. Strive to use less subproducts and fast food, because they have many calories, they are fatty and salty.

4. Be physically active.

Human body is not adapted for endless sitting on the desk. In order to protect your health, you have to move. Loading strengthens muscles, including heart, improves sleep and mood. It is not important whether you do sports in the sports hall or you just walk around your house – the most important is to move.

5. Consume whole – grain bread.

White bread doesn’t have any value in this respect, while the whole – grain one is rich in cellulose and other useful substances. It can prevent us from the sharp falls in the level of glucose in blood and prolongs the feeling of satiety.

6. Choose “the right” fats.

Fats are not always harmful. The saturated fats really contribute to accumulation of excess kilos and provoke cardiovascular diseases, but unsaturated ones are useful to body. You can easily use olive oil, to season your salad or to prepare meals.

7. Avoid “liquid” calories.

A big glass of coca cola contains too much sugar. Each day in the stomach, together with drinks, there enter excessive calories, which don’t create feeling of satiety, but contribute to adding of excess kilos. Thus, avoid the consumption of fizzy soft drinks, by replacing them with fruit juices and milk products.

Overweight and Health Im Portant Secrets

It is now a proven fact that health and weight are closely linked together. Medical doctors have found that sixty different diseases are associated with overweight and obesity. This can explain why weight loss is becoming more and more a real challenge to our society. In fact, weight loss is a key factor that cannot be ignored now that we know for sure that sixty percent (60%) of the population is overweight and twenty four percent (24%) obese. Overweight and obesity is the next target to recover health.

WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE

Moreover, this situation affects teenagers and even young kids. America is ranking first for overweight and obesity worldwide. It is a major concern and weight loss will require for many years to come social policies and programs to stop and reverse this scourge of society like we did for smoking. This is no secret that massive action is required to achieve this weight loss goal for Americans. This problem needs to be attacked on many fronts. For example, the State of Arkansas has prohibited fast food in the public schools and there is also a requirement to measure the body mass of all students and the results have to be sent to the parents every year. This action program has had a direct impact on weight loss so far and was reduced from 20.9 % to 20.6% and has also stopped the progression.

FAST FOOD IMPACT

In New Orleans, a study has shown that the body mass of Americans eating five to six times a week in fast food restaurants is higher than those eating twice a week in those places. This is another proof that fast food is a major barrier to weight loss and a sure way to obesity. Since weight and health are so closely linked, it must be a concern for all of us to reach a proper healthy weight and to maintain it. This is a must if we want to prevent, for example, heart disease, which has now an important death rate affecting one American out of six. Heart disease, which, in most cases, is connected , one way or another, to overweight and to obesity. Obesity has also an economic impact. For example, American Airlines have a fuel consumption exceeding 600,000 millions gallons just because of this problem. Just imagine the impact on environment.

The whole situation requires major changes in our life style. Weight loss is not only a struggle for better life but constitutes as well a necessity for better health and wellness. Weight loss is the result of better food intake and more exercise. Weight loss will necessitate important changes in our environment and these changes have to be dealt with for the next generations to come. The quantity of industrial processed food and the food additives will also have to be addressed if we want to achieve this common weight loss goal. It is not only a dream but an absolute necessity.

Since it is a proven fact now that overweight and obesity is the causes of many diseases, it is a must for all of us to remove the excess fat from our bodies in order to regain health. Weight loss requires action from each one us in relation to better food intake, exercise and removing toxins from the body. Isagenix offers a very good cleansing program. Botanic makes you loose weight . Don’t be surprised with the results if you take action.

How to Avoid Being Denied Health Insurance Coverage For Being Overweight

During the past 10 years there has been a dramatic upturn in Obesity and overweight adults in America and as you can imagine it has had a serious cost impact on the U.S. healthcare system. While many consumers who are denied health insurance coverage for being overweight or rated with a “fat tax” may feel that they are being jilted by the insurance underwriting system. Fair or not treatment for health issues associated with overweight and obese individuals does have significant reprocussions on the economy and the overall cost of healthcare.

The underwriters use a system for determining your height and weight calculations to determine acceptable ranges. The correlation of the two defines a number called the BMI or ” body mass index” and gives the underwriters an estimate of bodyfat. According to the department of human health services a BMI of 30 is considered obese and 25 to 29.9 is overweight. If your BMI is higher than 43 you will not likely qualify for traditional health insurance coverage. If your BMI is between 29-43, a health insurer may choose to offer you health insurance with a rated up premium. If you have pre-existing health issues in relation to your weight, such as diabetes, hypertension or heart disease, a health insurer may deny you coverage altogether, even if your BMI is within range. In addition to the BMI the belly fat or waist circumference is a good indicator of future health problems associated with excess weight such as type 2 diabetes and hypertension. Overweight inactive individuals with a propensity to store excess stomach fat will eventually experience insulin resistance, and or other heart health issues. When underwriters review an application and see that an applicant has a combination of these pre-existing conditions a red flag is immediately raised regarding the application. Underwriters have certain risk criteria they use when combining your BMI with other risk factors such as smoking, and the health issues previously mentioned that might be exacerbated when combined together. Certain combinations of these will result in a decline for health coverage.

Excess Weight Affect Your Health and Cost of Healthcare?

While many overweight individuals may feel they are being railroaded by the insurers, the conclusion is that between 2 and 7% of all health care cost are associated with overweight and obesity, which resulted from health issues associated with the treatment of the overweight factors such as hypertension, insulin resistance or diabetes, high cholesterol, cardiac conditions, certain forms of cancer, respiratory issues, inactivity, absenteeism from work, mortality cost, and loss of family income from premature death.

What You can Do to Obtain Approval For A Health Insurance Policy

If you believe you may be overweight and may not qualify for individual or family health coverage, you can take a few precautions prior to submitting a health application. You should find a qualified health insurance broker who offers more than one carrier’s products and is knowledgeable about some of the underwriting requirements or is able to research the best plan for you. You can complete a prescreen application which will allow the broker to communicate with underwriters the issues prior to submitting the application and improve your chances of approval and avoid a potential decline. A decline can really be detrimental to obtaining creditable coverage. You should also review the BMI tables while not all tables are the same this will give you an idea of how close or far you are from current healthy body mass index levels for your height. Lastly consider improving your health for your own benefit by starting some basic exercise like walking 30 minutes a day, educating yourself about nutritious foods, eliminating empty calories like sugar and saturated fats and creating a lifestyle that makes you feel good, makes you productive, make you look great, reverse some health problems altogether and extend your life and most of all affords you quality health insurance.

Some Health Risks for Being Overweight

Being overweight may cause a variety of illnesses. Some of the health risks for being overweight are life threatening, while other illnesses can be reversed after losing weight.

Cancer
If you are overweight you are at a high risk of getting many different types of cancer. Actually just gaining weight, regardless if you put on a lot of extra pounds, increases your cancer risk. You should aim to get to your ideal weight and maintain the weight as you age by eating healthy foods, using portion control and getting some form of exercise every day. Thirty minutes of exercise is good, more is better. Some types of cancer that you could be at risk for, if you are overweight are, liver, colon, kidney, esophageal, uterine and postmenopausal breast cancer.

Sleep Apnea
When a person is overweight they have more fat around the neck which in turn makes the airway smaller. Smaller airways make breathing more difficult. Overweight people tend to snore and sleep apnea is when they stop breathing. Stored fat in the body causes inflammation and if you have inflammation in the neck, you are at a higher risk for having sleep apnea. This is one of the many health risks for being overweight. Sleep apnea is life threatening so you either need to lose weight or see your physician to discuss a breathing machine to use when you sleep.

Type 2 Diabetes
Being overweight can cause a disease called type 2 diabetes which causes the blood sugar level to be above the normal range. This is a major cause for heart disease. It can also cause a stroke, kidney disease, becoming blind and amputation. With type 2 diabetes your cells that produce insulin have to work harder to keep your blood sugar at a normal level and that may cause your cells to eventually fail.

Gallbladder Disease
More health risks for being overweight would include gallbladder disease which is inflammation and possibly an infection of the gallbladder, with gallstones. Gallstones are made of cholesterol and if you are overweight most likely you will have an enlarged gallbladder that doesn’t work as it should.
Some Health Risks For Being Overweight can be prevented by losing weight and having a healthy lifestyle. For resources to help you lose the weight, please visit Diet Plans and learn how you can lose weight without having to starve yourself or exercise to exhaustion.

Health Risks For The Overweight

People who are overweight are more likely to develop health problems. If you are overweight, you’d be putting yourself at risk for a wide array of medical conditions, including diabetes, heart disease and stroke, certain types of cancer, gout, and gallbladder disease. Aside from these, your being weight can also cause you to have trouble sleeping, particularly sleep apnea, and osteoarthritis. You also run a high risk of falling into depression and experiencing tiredness all the time, not to mention developing a small ego and very little self-respect and self-confidence.

It is important to take a closer look at the health risks for the overweight to help you gain a clearer perspective of the problems that are in store for you if you fail to take action to lose weight the right way as soon as possible.

The first on the list is diabetes. The most common type of diabetes to hit people who are overweight is type 2 diabetes, which is known in the medical world as non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus and is known to reduce your body’s capability to control its blood sugar. In the United States of America, type 2 diabetes is one of the leading causes of kidney disease, heart disease, stroke, and early death. The bad news for you is, people who are overweight like you are twice as likely to develop type 2 diabetes as people who are not.

Heart disease and stroke are common health problems for people who are overweight and are the major causes of disability and death in the country. People who are overweight usually have high blood pressure, not to mention dangerously high levels of cholesterol and blood fats, which can lead to heart disease and stroke. Some overweight people experience angina or chest pain due to a decreased amount of oxygen into the heart before heart disease and stroke sets in; others suffer from sudden death without any sign or symptom.

If you are overweight, you also run the risk of contracting certain types of cancer. If you’re a woman, these types of cancer include cancer of the uterus, cervix, ovary, breast, colon, and gallbladder. If you’re a man, these types of cancer include cancer of the prostate, colon, and rectum.

Gout is a joint disease that is common among people who are overweight. It is caused by alarmingly high levels of uric acid found in the blood. The uric acid forms into crystal masses or solid stone which will then be deposited in the joints, causing the sufferer to feel extreme pain. Gout may disable you from walking. Another disease that hits the joints of overweight people is osteoarthritis. It usually affects knee, hip, and lower back joints due to the extra pressure brought about by the body’s extra weight.

People who are overweight usually complain of difficulty in sleeping. Sleep apnea is a common sleeping disorder found in overweight people, and it causes them to stop breathing in short intervals and snore heavily when they are sleeping.

You should do your best to counter these health risks for the overweight. Seek help from your doctor; ask advice for an effective diet and exercise program now.

Do You Know the Health Risks of Being Overweight?

Do You Know the Health Risks of Being Overweight?

* Are You Overweight?

* What Is Your Waist Measurement?

* What Are the Risks to Your Health of Being Overweight?

* How You Can Lower Your Health Risks

If you are overweight, you are more likely to develop health problems, such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, certain types of cancer, gout (joint pain caused by excess uric acid), and gallbladder disease. Being overweight can also cause problems such as sleep apnea (interrupted breathing during sleep) and osteoarthritis (wearing away of the joints). The more overweight you are, the more likely you are to have health problems. Weight loss can help improve the harmful effects of being overweight. However, many overweight people have difficulty reaching their healthy body weight. Studies show that you can improve your health by losing as little as 10 to 20 pounds.

What Is Your Waist Measurement?

If you are a woman and your waist measures more than 35 inches, or if you are a man and your waist measures more than 40 inches, you are more likely to develop heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and certain cancers. You may want to talk to your doctor or other health professional about the health risks of your weight.

What Are the Risks to Your Health of Being Overweight?

1. Heart Disease and Stroke

Heart disease and stroke are the leading causes of death and disability for both men and women in the United States. Overweight people are more likely to have high blood pressure, a major risk factor for heart disease and stroke, than people who are not overweight. Very high blood levels of cholesterol and triglycerides (blood fats) can also lead to heart disease and often are linked to being overweight. Being overweight also contributes to angina (chest pain caused by decreased oxygen to the heart) and sudden death from heart disease or stroke without any signs or symptoms.

The good news is that losing a small amount of weight can reduce your chances of developing heart disease or a stroke. Reducing your weight by 10 percent can decrease your chance of developing heart disease by improving how your heart works, blood pressure, and levels of blood cholesterol and triglycerides.

2.Diabetes

Noninsulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (type 2 diabetes) is the most common type of diabetes in the United States. Type 2 diabetes reduces your body’s ability to control your blood sugar. It is a major cause of early death, heart disease, kidney disease, stroke, and blindness. Overweight people are twice as likely to develop type 2 diabetes as people who are not overweight. You can reduce your risk of developing this type of diabetes by losing weight and by increasing your physical activity.

If you have type 2 diabetes, losing weight and becoming more physically active can help control your blood sugar levels. If you use medicine to control your blood sugar, weight loss and physical activity may make it possible for your doctor to decrease the amount of medication you need.

3.Cancer

Several types of cancer are associated with being overweight. In women, these include cancer of the uterus, gallbladder, cervix, ovary, breast, and colon. Overweight men are at greater risk for developing cancer of the colon, rectum, and prostate. For some types of cancer, such as colon or breast, it is not clear whether the increased risk is due to the extra weight or to a high-fat and high-calorie diet.

4.Sleep Apnea

Sleep apnea is a serious condition that is closely associated with being overweight. Sleep apnea can cause a person to stop breathing for short periods during sleep and to snore heavily. Sleep apnea may cause daytime sleepiness and even heart failure. The risk for sleep apnea increases with higher body weights. Weight loss usually improves sleep apnea.

5.Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis is a common joint disorder that most often affects the joints in your knees, hips, and lower back. Extra weight appears to increase the risk of osteoarthritis by placing extra pressure on these joints and wearing away the cartilage (tissue that cushions the joints) that normally protects them. Weight loss can decrease stress on the knees, hips, and lower back and may improve the symptoms of osteoarthritis.

6. Gout

Gout is a joint disease caused by high levels of uric acid in the blood. Uric acid sometimes forms into solid stone or crystal masses that become deposited in the joints. Gout is more common in overweight people and the risk of developing the disorder increases with higher body weights.

Note: Over the short term, some diets may lead to an attack of gout in people who have high levels of uric acid or who have had gout before. If you have a history of gout, check with your doctor or other health professional before trying to lose weight.

7. Gallbladder Disease

Gallbladder disease and gallstones are more common if you are overweight. Your risk of disease increases as your weight increases. It is not clear how being overweight may cause gallbladder disease.

How You Can Lower Your Health Risks

If you are overweight, losing as little as 5 to 10 percent of your body weight may improve many of the problems linked to being overweight, such as high blood pressure and diabetes. For example, if you weigh 200 pounds and are considered overweight on the weight-for-height chart, you would need to lose 10 to 20 pounds. Even a small weight loss can improve your health.

Slow and steady weight loss of no more than 1 pound per week is the safest way to lose weight. Very rapid weight loss can cause you to lose muscle rather than fat. It also increases your chances of developing other problems, such as gallstones, gout, and nutrient deficiencies. Making long-term changes in your eating and physical activity habits is the best way to lose weight and keep it off over time.

* Eat Better: Whether you are trying to lose weight or maintain your weight, you should take a look at your eating habits and try to improve them. Try to eat a variety of foods, especially pasta, rice, bread, and other whole-grain foods. You should also eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. These foods will fill you up and are lower in calories than foods full of oils or fats. .

* Increase Physical Activity: Making physical activity a part of your daily life is an important way to help control your weight and lower your risk for health problems. Spend less time in activities that use little energy like watching television and playing video games and more time in physical activities. Try to do at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day on most days of the week. The activity does not have to be done all at once. It can be done in short spurts–10 minutes here, 20 minutes there–as long as it adds up to 30 minutes a day. Simple ways to become more physically active include walking to the store or taking the stairs instead of the elevator.

If you are not overweight but health problems related to being overweight run in your family, it is important that you try to keep your weight steady. If you have family members with weight-related health problems, you are more likely to develop them yourself. If you are not sure of your risk of developing a weight-related health problem, you should talk to your health care provider.

Why Keeping Clean is Important

Teens are very active individuals, it can be in school, socializations and sports, and do they still have time in thinking about their skins? Factors concerning hormones, thus a teenager, got some various issues on their skin. What’s the news on this? Having some proper, with simple, procedure as well as few changes in their habits, a teenager may achieve a healthier, clearer skin complexion.

First, let us cover up some of the things that a teenager incorporates with their day to day lifestyle. Sometimes, a change in lifestyle makes all of the differences.

Washing of hands is very important before you cleanse the face, when touching of face. Hands always come in contact with so much dirt in a day. This dirt is building up in our hand, it will absolutely fill up our pores, and it will cause to erupt in any part of our skin. To wash our faces with a dirty hand is very harmful.  Monitor the tidiness of all things that touch your skin or face. A baseball cap or phone usually is the culprit. Be very mindful of the areas in your face that is very usual to have eruptions, do you touch that skin area with a certain object all throughout your day? Be sure that your face care product or the makeup, its non Comedogenic, it implies that they don’t have ingredients known for clog pore formation. Certain ingredient that you need to keep away includes Mineral oil, lanolin, Isopropyl Myristate, SD alcohol, color and fragrance. Eat a healthy food. Researchers do believer that there’s relation in your dietary meal and your skin. If we keep on eating unhealthy food, the skin do tend to present it in between brows area, also called wine & dine, and your chin area.  Have a lotion SPF15 on a daily basis. It is a good suggestion for everyone; however, teenagers must wear some moisturizer, which contains some sunscreen of full spectrum. Sunlight is breaking down the collagen as well as Elastin; it gives our skin that dark spots. However, the big frightening news will be the problem that might surface till the later years. In order for you to secure that healthy face or skin, always protect it when you’re still young.

Always remove your makeup during the night. There are people who do not remove makeup, just let it stay put and it’s a big no, mostly if the face is very oily. Makeup builds up the pores, causing for skin eruption and an uneven tone of skin.

So this time let us move to the habits that we need to stay away from. When you are guilty in doing things that can increase the likelihood of eruptions, you need to cut them down in order to have a fair complexion. Do not use lots of drying facial or skin products. If your skin is too oily, there’s a tendency for us to purchase face moisturizers or skin spots treatment that promises drying oily skins. You might see some results, however in a longer period; the oily glands do start in overcompensating in absence of oils, thus producing more oils. Never make use of bar soaps in your face. The bar soaps are alkaline while your skin has acid. So, what will be the effect? It simply results to the feeling of dryness, itchiness and tightness.  Never take a very hot shower. It somehow is tempting but heat might draw some moisture to your skin. The skin can produce oils and might look dry or flaky. Never pick that skin eruption. You should have heard that before. A whitehead is white due to the being infected, when you pick them up, they will spread all over the infected area and all over your face. Rather than picking them, try on applying a product that contains salicylic acid or sulfur acid in that problematic area that is about to start breaking out.
